On November 8, Shao Huo, Secretary General of the Guangdong Laser Industry Association, once again came to Lithuania to meet with the Lithuanian Laser Association CEO Petras Balkevicius to further discuss the intention of the members of the two associations to increase technical and personnel exchanges and cooperation.

With the help of Mr. Algis, an old friend of our association, Mr. Shao Huo came to EKSPLA to visit. EKSPLA is a leading company in Lithuania, specializing in the development and production of ultrafast lasers for precision machining. The company had established a branch in Shanghai in the early years, Axma Laser, and has a good growth in China.

On the opening day of the first China import Expo (November 5), Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Lithuanian President Grybauskaite and agreed that the two sides should increase cooperation in the fields of e-commerce, financial technology, new energy, laser and agriculture. The Secretary of the Laser Association, Shao Huo’s trip to Lithuania, responded to the call of national leaders with practical actions to promote exchanges and cooperation with high-end laser technology in Lithuania.

On the previous day, Mr. Shao Huo visited VDW (German Machine Tool Manufacturers Association) and LZH (Hanover Laser Center), a well-known research institution in Hanover. VDW is a long-established organization in Germany that deals with machining and machine tool manufacturing. It has been in existence for more than 125 years. LZH is a research institute specializing in laser technology and process development. It has unique capabilities in ultra-fast laser processing and composite material processing. Its underwater laser cutting technology is still an exclusive technology.

Mr. Shao Huo went to Belgium on November 9 to visit the European Photonics Industry consortium. The Secretary General of the EPIC, Carlos Lee, is a close old friend of our association. EPIC is currently the largest industry organization in the semiconductor lighting, optics, optoelectronics and laser industries in Europe. EPIC has been in close contact with the Guangdong Laser Industry Association since 2013. By 2015, it has officially signed a cooperation agreement with the Guangdong Laser Industry Association. In recent years, the two sides have frequent exchanges of visits between China and Europe, and members have extensive exchanges and cooperation. The two associations will jointly hold the Asia-Europe Industrial Laser Summit in Shenzhen in May each year.
